Positive Connections
Prosperity Through Harmonious Collaboration
Marketing was my first profession, and I’ve come full circle to the realization that—whether in sales, advocacy, or teaching—the key to personal and professional success is creating relationships.
If you go to networking meetings you have probably grown accustomed to hearing the same 30-second elevator speeches. "Yada, yada, yada; and I'd like your business." Or, if the speaker has attended more than six meetings, "...and, if you know anyone who needs something like that, please refer them to me." Many of those meetings have a speaker, who has 20 minutes to do more selling.
You collect a few business cards, answer questions from the couple people you have not met before, and engage some pleasant banter with other stalwarts in the group. Result? Two hours out of the office to get a couple meager leads.
The Positive Connections concept is designed to provide more value for your time.
It is a working lunch with a speaker. But the speaker is not there to sell. The speaker is there to inform. Members are expected to share their expertise, and there are invited speakers as well. The emphasis is on not just improved sales, but on self-improvement. When you are the best person you can be, it leads to relationship-building. When customers, clients, patrons, patients (whoever comprises your clientele) feel a relationship with you, it makes it easier for them to recommend your services to others.
When you feel a connection with your clientele, it is easier to design your services and interactions in a way that addresses their needs; increasing the value of the services or products you make available to them. When they make a purchase, it becomes a mutual benefit, not just a sale.
Change your mind to become better at business
Positive Connections meets once a month in the Studio of Harmony at iHealth Center in Roanoke, TX. A light lunch is provided. There is an agenda.
Membership is by invitation only. If you would like more information, or think your goals are consistent with those of the group, please mail us this membership form.
After the initial organization of the group, we will be videotaping the presenters and discussions. Those videos will be available thru iChange Press.
