STUDENT PROFILE AND SELECTION
We seek students who are committed, life-long learners; who have willing hearts and open minds; and are dedicated to effectively helping change lives. We select students who have the courage to become leaders in hypnotherapy. There are no academic prerequisites to become a hypnotherapist, but we screen applicants for a certain level of aptitude—as well as emotional and spiritual maturity—we believe necessary to practice successfully.
We limit class size to ensure quality instruction. Some schools accept any student who can pay the fee, but we want you to make a soulful commitment. Part of the application process is a one hour meeting with Dr. Kweethai. If the session convinces you that hypnotherapy is not the right path, you can redirect time and energy to something more suitable. We respect and value your commitment to this training. The application process is a necessary step in affirming your capacity to embrace hypnotherapy as a new lifestyle and career.
TECHNOLOGY
The practice of Clinical Hypnotherapy as we teach it relies heavily on an understanding of ancient practices such as Chinese energy medicine. But, to conduct what amounts to a small business in the modern world requires digital skills. We will teach you how to use your computer as a business tool. Here is what you need.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Prospective students must:
1) be at least 21 years of age; and
2) have completed a secondary education, or
3) have successfully completed the equivalent of at least one full-time semester (12 academic semester hours) or quarter (18 academic quarter hours) at an accredited college, university, or other postsecondary school; and
4) complete a one-hour interview with Dr. Neill.
In the interview, Dr. Neill determines the likelihood of an applicant becoming a successful clinical hypnotherapist. At the very least, the successful applicant needs to demonstrate characteristics of a lifelong learner (as opposed to a specific academic degree or test results), as well as a level of self-knowledge that bodes well for attending to the needs of future clients. We seek students with the following qualities:
• potential to become a successful, clinical hypnotherapist,
• a heart that wants to heal, a spirit that desires to help, and a mind that is excited to learn,
• open to the spiritual benefits of hypnotherapy,
• desire to make a life, not just a lifestyle,
• flexibility to measure success not just in dollars, but in other sustainable qualities as well,
• a flare to be different and act on personal creativity
The purpose of the interview is to help prospective students understand the scope of work required for success at iHHS. It is critical the applicant understand the commitment required to become a practicing hypnotherapist. Student who are accepted and engage this path will understand the seriousness of this endeavor and the value of their investment.
You are a lifelong learner if you:
• read for enjoyment; and as you read you connect the content to your own life experiences
• are a critical observer
• are excited about learning new things
• absorb media broadly; taking in information from books, magazines, radio, tv, lectures, concerts, internet, etc.
• enjoy sharing new ideas and seek the company of others as curious and inquisitive as you
• accept novel ideas and consider points of view outside your own experience
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY FOR STUDENTS
Prospective students are not to be denied admission on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, handicap, age, or veteran status (except where age, sex, or handicap constitute a bona fide occupational qualification necessary to proper and efficient administration).
Please note that the interview with Dr. Neill is to help the student understand the demands and rigor of the training so that the student is well prepared for the work involved.
